Who we are

This policy covers the Mufungo Football Hub app (package com.mufungogeeks.masports, also listed as MaSports Football Highlights) on Android and iOS, and the pages on mufungogeeks.com/legal/mufungo-football-hub/ that describe it.

Related terms: Terms of Use.

2

The short version

  • You do not need an account to browse highlights and scores.
  • Highlights play inside the app from YouTube. We do not host the video files.
  • Scores are match data we store for the app. They are not a live feed from your phone to the data provider.
  • The penalty game can save a name and high score on your phone and, if publishing works, on our leaderboard.
  • The app shows Google AdMob ads and uses Firebase for content, crash reports, analytics, and notifications.
3

What stays on your phone

These items are stored on the device. They are not uploaded unless a section below says they are:

  • League filter for highlights.
  • Penalty profile — a display name, game id, and your best run — saved locally first.
  • Ad counter so a full-screen ad is not shown on every highlight.
  • The date you pick on the scores screen.

Uninstalling the app removes this on-device data.

4

Scores

The scores screen reads match lists from Firebase Cloud Firestore. Our own server fetches those matches from football-data.org and writes them into Firestore. Your phone does not send a personal profile to football-data.org, and the app does not include that provider’s token.

The list only includes competitions available on our plan. Choosing a date only changes what the app reads from the copy we already stored.

5

Highlights

Highlight lists are also read from Firestore. Playback uses the YouTube player, including youtube-nocookie.com where the player supports it. YouTube and Google handle playback under their own policies. We do not receive a copy of the video.

Club names, crests, and competition names shown next to scores or highlights belong to their owners. We use them to identify matches.

6

Penalty game

A new best score is saved on the phone immediately. The app then tries to publish it with Firebase Anonymous Authentication. That sign-in is not an email account. It gives the install an id so the leaderboard can store:

  • The name you type
  • Your best run, games played, and wins
  • A public game id

The leaderboard can show that name and best score to other players. If the cloud save fails, the result stays on the phone. You can clear it by uninstalling the app. To ask us to remove a published name, email support@mufungogeeks.com with the game id shown in the app.

7

Firebase

The app uses Google Firebase for:

  • Cloud Firestore — highlight lists, score lists, and penalty leaderboard records
  • Authentication — anonymous sign-in for the penalty leaderboard only
  • Analytics — app usage, such as screens and sessions
  • Crashlytics — crash reports, which can include device and app-version details
  • Cloud Messaging — a push token so we can send match or app notices
  • Remote Config — small settings such as store text, without a user profile

See Google’s Privacy Policy.

8

Ads

Google AdMob shows banner ads and, after you open a few highlights, a full-screen interstitial before the highlight screen opens. The highlight screen is not placed under the ad.

AdMob may use an advertising identifier, IP address, and device or app information under Google’s policies. We do not sell that information. On iOS the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before tracking for ads. You can refuse, and you can reset the advertising id in your phone settings.

See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

9

Children

Mufungo Football Hub is a general sports app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has published a penalty name, email us and we will remove it.

10

Your choices

  • Penalty name: it is stored on the phone. Email us with the game id if it was published and you want it removed.
  • Notifications: turn them off in the phone settings for this app.
  • Ads and analytics: use your operating system’s advertising-id and tracking settings. On iOS you can decline tracking when asked.
  • Delete on-device data: uninstall the app.
  • Contact us: support@mufungogeeks.com

If privacy law where you live gives you rights over personal data a company holds, those rights apply to the data we actually store: published penalty names and scores, and the technical data Firebase and Google keep for ads, crashes, and notifications. We do not operate an establishment in the EU or California. Governing law for our relationship with you is Zimbabwe, as described in the Terms of Use.

11

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after the new date means you accept the updated policy.
