Huawei's 2026 lineup is genuinely impressive — but before you buy, there's one thing you must know about Google services.

Huawei has built some of the most technically impressive smartphones in the world over the past two years — particularly in cameras and display technology. The Mate 80 Pro launched globally in early 2026, the Pura 80 Ultra is a genuine camera powerhouse, and the Mate X7 is arguably the finest foldable hardware available. But before covering any of them, there is one critical fact every potential buyer must understand.

⚠️ The Google Services Issue — Read This First

Due to US trade restrictions imposed since 2019, all Huawei phones ship without Google Mobile Services (GMS). This means no Google Play Store, no Google Maps, no YouTube app, no Gmail, and no Google Chrome. Huawei's own AppGallery is the primary app store, and while it has grown significantly, it still lacks many popular apps that Android users rely on.

Apps can be sideloaded via APK files, and third-party app stores like APKPure provide access to many titles — but the experience requires technical comfort and is not seamless. If Google apps are essential to your daily workflow, a Huawei phone is not the right choice. If you use mostly local apps, streaming services that have direct APKs, or you are in a region where alternatives are well-established, Huawei becomes viable. Huawei phones are also not available in the United States — they are sold primarily in China, parts of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

With that clearly stated, here are the best Huawei phones available in 2026.

1. Huawei Pura 80 Ultra — Best Camera Phone

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is the most camera-focused Huawei phone available and one of the most technically ambitious smartphone cameras ever made. Its headline feature is a 50MP 1-inch main sensor (f/1.6–f/4.0 variable aperture, OIS) — the largest sensor on any current flagship — which delivers exceptional light capture in both daylight and night photography. Alongside it sits a unique dual-telephoto system on a single moving sensor: a 50MP telephoto at 3.7x optical zoom (83mm) and a 12.5MP telephoto at 9.4x optical zoom (212mm), plus a 40MP ultrawide. An additional spectral channels ultra-chroma camera assists with colour accuracy. A physical adjustable aperture adds creative control rarely seen on smartphones.

The 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display runs at 1–120Hz with a 2848×1276 resolution (460 PPI), 1440Hz PWM dimming, and 1.07 billion colours. Under the hood is the Kirin 9020 (7nm) with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The 5,170mAh battery supports 100W wired SuperCharge, and the phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings. It runs EMUI 15. Pricing starts at approximately €1,200.

  • Best for: Photography enthusiasts, videographers, creative users
  • Key specs: Kirin 9020, 6.8" LTPO OLED 120Hz, 1-inch 50MP main, dual telephoto (3.7x + 9.4x), 40MP ultrawide, 5,170mAh, 100W charging, IP68/IP69

2. Huawei Mate 80 Pro — Best All-Round Huawei

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro is the most capable overall Huawei flagship in 2026 and the one that received the broadest global launch. It launched in China in November 2025 and began its international rollout in March 2026. It is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro (6nm) — a 9-core chip with Maleoon 935 GPU — paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options up to 1TB.

The 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display (2832×1280, 460 PPI, 1–120Hz) reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and is protected by 2nd Generation Kunlun Glass. The triple camera — a 50MP main with variable f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture, 40MP ultrawide, and 48MP macro telephoto — supports 4x optical zoom, up to 100x digital zoom, and 8K video recording. A 5,750mAh battery powers 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, infrared, and USB-C 3.1. It is rated IP68 and IP69, weighs 219g, and runs EMUI 15 globally. International pricing sits at approximately $1,017 / €888 / £765.

  • Best for: Huawei loyalists who want the best all-round flagship
  • Key specs: Kirin 9030 Pro, 6.75" LTPO OLED 120Hz, 50MP + 40MP + 48MP cameras, 5,750mAh, 100W wired / 80W wireless, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, IP68/IP69

3. Huawei Mate X7 — Best Foldable

The Huawei Mate X7 is the best foldable phone Huawei has made. Released in late 2025 and available globally in 2026, it features an 8.0-inch inner LTPO OLED display (2210×2416, 412 PPI, 120Hz) and a 6.49-inch outer display (1080×2444, 120Hz, 3000 nits) — the outer screen is wide enough to use comfortably as a regular smartphone without ever opening the device. The hinge mechanism is widely considered the sturdiest among all current foldables, staying precisely in position at any angle.

It is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro (6nm) with 16GB of RAM, and the triple camera includes a 50MP main sensor (f/1.5–f/4.0, 1/1.28" sensor), a 50MP periscope telephoto (3.5x optical), and a 40MP ultrawide. The 5,600mAh battery supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. At just 9.5mm folded and 236g, it is one of the thinnest and lightest foldables available. It holds IP58 and IP59 ratings, runs EMUI 15 globally, and supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

  • Best for: Foldable enthusiasts who want premium hardware and the sturdiest hinge available
  • Key specs: Kirin 9030 Pro, 8.0" inner OLED / 6.49" outer OLED (both 120Hz), 50MP + 50MP periscope + 40MP cameras, 5,600mAh, 66W/50W charging, IP58/IP59, 236g

4. Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design — The World's First Tri-Fold

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design, released September 2024 and still relevant in 2026, holds the distinction of being the world's first mass-produced tri-fold smartphone. Fully unfolded, it reveals a 10.2-inch OLED display (2232×3184, 381 PPI). It folds to a 6.4-inch single screen for everyday carry, opens to a 7.9-inch dual screen for tablet mode, or unfolds completely for a near-tablet experience.

It is powered by the Kirin 9010 (7nm) with 16GB of RAM and comes in 512GB or 1TB configurations. The triple camera (50MP variable-aperture main, 12MP 5.5x periscope telephoto, 12MP ultrawide) is competent rather than class-leading. The 5,600mAh battery supports 66W wired and 50W wireless. At approximately $3,866 / €3,500+, this is a prestige device for early adopters and tech enthusiasts — not a practical daily driver recommendation for most people. Availability outside China is limited.

  • Best for: Early adopters who want the most unique form factor in tech
  • Key specs: Kirin 9010, 10.2" tri-fold OLED, 16GB RAM, 5,600mAh, 66W/50W charging, ~$3,866

Which Huawei Should You Buy?

  • Want the best cameras Huawei makes → Pura 80 Ultra
  • Want the best all-round flagship → Mate 80 Pro
  • Want the best foldable hardware → Mate X7
  • Want the most unique tech device → Mate XT Ultimate Design

Remember: all Huawei phones require you to live without Google apps. If that trade-off is acceptable for your usage, Huawei's hardware is genuinely world-class. If it is not, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, Google Pixel 10, or OnePlus 14 offer comparable or better hardware with full Google support.
